Creamy rice pudding
2.5 cups cooked rice
3-4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup cream
Combine the rice with the other ingredients thoroughly.
Pour into a lightly greased crockpot.
Cover and cook on high 1-2 hours then low 4-6 hours.
Stir several times during the first 30 minutes.

Poached pears in red wine
2 cups dry red wine
1 cup sugar
6-8 medium pears
4 thin strips lemon peel
Put wine and sugar in crockpot.
Cover and cook on high until sugar has dissolved.
Peel pears, keeping whole and leaving stems on.
Put into the crockpot, turning and coating well.
Add lemon peel.
Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours.
Turn occasionally to coat with wine mixture.
Serve with wine poured over pears.
